Covid19 has certainly changed daily life in our household. My husband’s job is considered essential, so his work schedule hasn’t changed; however, our college age daughter in Savannah has returned home to stay with us and work temporarily with her dad’s company until her job in Savannah reopens.
While she and her cat Lina are a little homesick for Savannah, we have been making the best of this unique situation. It has been nice to have our chats in person rather than on Facetime and she has been spoiling me with help around the house. I will surely miss her when this “stay in place” period ends!
I posted a few pics of some of the things we have been enjoying. A nightly game of Scrabble is one of our favorites. We have played almost everyday and she has beaten me all but one time. We kind of make our own rules rather than keep a number score, so big words rule, three letter words are frowned upon, and whoever goes out first after using all the letters in the box wins!!! Got to up my word power!!!!
Back porch sitting and solving all the problems in the world (not really) is a must. There is nothing more relaxing than listening to the nights sounds, seeing the stars and talking about whatever pops into your head.
The last pic above represents dinner together. And this meal was prepared by my daughter. All I had to do was show up at the table. She even cleaned up the kitchen and loaded the dishwasher. I love being spoiled!!!
I hope that other families are finding the good stuff too during this time. When you pass 50, time is so precious and I am trying to soak in every minute and remain grateful for time spent with my husband, daughters and grandchildren. I am blessed.
